Pilates connects the mind, body and soul. It can ease tension, reduce inflammation and promote health, all through movement. Joseph Pilates believed that we now require more attention to physical fitness. Why? Because we are doing tasks day in and day out that are contributing to a weakened body and an unnatural posture. He created his Contrology (Now called Pilates) Program to return our bodies back to their supple and natural state. Pilates focuses on your body as a whole to uniformly develop your muscles and connect your mind to your body. Doing so helps you to subconsciously aware of your posture and alignment throughout everyday life.
Pilates is for everyone and Pilates is for every body. Every exercise in the Pilates method can be modified to your ability. You will gain range of motion, strength, flexibility and confidence as you advance through the levels of the classical pilates method. The Phoenix Studio is a place where you can expect to be encouraged, supported and cheered on as you take the steps to bettering yourself.
The Mat classes that I offer are the traditional work of Joseph Pilates. They follow his structured order and his method. True to Joe. The Mat classes are a small group class, creating a very supportive and warm environment. Although it may be your core that is burning during class, your whole body is working! It is a full body exercise program. This way we can develop your body uniformly, creating balance and symmetry with in. Doing so, rehabilitates your body and sets you up for injury prevention.
A private session is one on one instruction that is completely customized to your body. They are a great way to progress your body through Joseph Pilates‘ method by fine tuning your performance and diving deeper into the program.
At The Phoenix Studio we have two Towers, a Reformer and a Wunda Chair.
The equipment can be used as a way to assist and help you through exercises and can be a great tool to help with injury prevention and rehabilitation. But the springs can also add resistance and a complexity to the program, to keep your body challenged.
Semi Private sessions are one on two instruction.Share your private session with a friend or we can find a partner for you.
Semi Private sessions utilize the equipment and the mats. They are a cost effective way to gain the benefits of the equipment and tailored instruction.
